A Typical Day Of My Life

A typical day of my life

I love to read a typical day of others and I feel good to read how people manage their daily routine. So this time I thought of sharing a typical day in my life during lock-down. The present condition in our country is very scary, it is difficult to maintain sanity. Spending days after days inside four walls with depressing news flooding everywhere is quite demotivating but we should not lose hope. Almighty is there and this shall too pass. So here is the sneak of a day in my life.

What my typical day looks like

A day in my life

My day usually starts around 7:30 am. I try to wake up early but though there is no morning rush so I sleep a little extra. I start my day with a cup of hot tea and while sipping the tea I had a nice morning chat with my husband. After that, I read some interesting blog posts. It motivates me for the whole day. After my tea session, I quickly plan my to-do list for the entire day.

What else can we wish for to start a day. A cup of hot tea with a morning view.

By 8:30 am I start doing my chores. Usually, my energy level is at its peak during the mornings and I try to make most of it. The first thing I check off from my to-do list is doing laundry. The never-ending cycle of laundry gives me an affirmation that I have a lot to wear (lol). In the meantime my daughter wakes up, she is having her summer vacation now, so she rises late these days.

At around 9:00 am I prepare my breakfast. Our breakfasts are very simple, I try to make some healthy breakfasts that are easy to make like different kinds of sandwiches, cereals eggs, and few days we eat noodles too to have a change. Meanwhile, my helper arrives and she helps me in doing some household chores.

By 10:00 am I am done with our breakfast, meal preparation, laundry. Usually, during this time I sit with my daughter with her studies. And engage her in some writing and reading practices. In the meantime, I call my parents to check their well-being. This phone call in the morning acts like a dose of love for me to remain happy for the entire day.

At 11:00 am, I again enter the kitchen to prepare lunch and dinner. I don’t love to spend much time in the kitchen so I plan our meal for lunch and dinner early. And then cook both meals simultaneously. It saves a lot of time for me. My cooking takes almost 1 to 2 hours including cleaning the countertop after cooking. A clean and organized kitchen always makes me happy. I am the kind of person who is not a clean freak but a dirty and unorganized home makes me feel depressing. I believe a little but consistent effort makes your home tidy and organized. During this time I help my daughter to take bath, though she can do it on her own but sometimes mommies need to supervise.

At around 1:00 pm I take shower, then we take our lunch. Lunchtime is screen time for my daughter. She loves to watch her favorite shows while having lunch. I also enjoy having my lunch while watching those beautiful Disney princess movies with her.

Around 2:00 pm, I start feeling a bit lazy so I mostly spend my afternoons reading books or watching some YouTube videos or sometimes I take a siesta too. Studies show that an afternoon nap is great for adults that helps in increasing productivity, boost your memory, and uplift your mood.

By 5:00 pm my daughter starts feeling hungry, she is a fussy eater and this is the only time she asks for food as this is the snack time. She munches her favorite cookies and muffins as her evening snacks. And I have my evening tea with some light snacks. Tea works like an instant energy booster for me, two times a day is a must for me to feel refreshed.

6:00 pm This time I am engaged in writing posts for my blog or any blog-related tasks. My daughter also plays on her own. She mostly plays with her dolls this time. During this stay at home, she started loving playing with dolls. She makes clothes for them and some accessories for them too. I am fascinated to see how creative she has become. Sometimes if she feels bore we play some board games together or do some chitchat with her. We make some video calls to our friends and family, as this is the only way to socialize during this lock-down.

Around 8:45 pm we have our dinner. After dinner sometimes I watch some series on Netflix or read some novels or just a family time with some chitchats. Then it’s time to sleep and thankful to God that the day went well and hope to start a new day with a new beginning.

Daily routine during lock-down

Wrap Up

This is a typical day in my life. Spending 24 hours inside the home is sometimes very depressing but it is much better than suffering. I am thankful that we are doing well and I believe soon we will get our normal lives back. Rather than staying unhappy, it is better to find happiness in little things. We should try to see the sunny side of every circumstance. Like we can stay the entire day in our comfy pj’s and messy bun. And as there are no more outings during weekends so you can have a relaxed weekend being a couch potato and binging on your favorite web series.

So let me know how your days are going or went during lock-down. Stay safe!!
