I know it is a struggle for every mom to manage all the things and to meet all the expectations each single day. Before kids wake up in the morning moms have some peaceful time. A busy mom should always plan their mornings effectively so that they could have a feel that a good amount of work has been done already. A decade ago when I was not a mom, the only thing I have to think in the morning was which dress to wear for the workplace. Then years passed by and I was blessed with a baby girl whose cute, innocent face made me to stay with her forever (24×7). Yes!! my priorities changed and I choose to be stay at home mom. Initially, the new motherhood was driving me crazy, I felt like an unproductive mom.

Thanks to time, it teaches us so many things. And during these years I not only got a few grey hairs but also learnt many ways to be productive. Let’s know the fact that morning sets the tone of the day. So the mantra to be a productive mom is to utilize your mornings wisely. Productivity is the key to a healthy and peaceful mind whether you are a stay-at-home-mom or working mom or work at home mom. This helps us to stay organized and get all the things done based on their priority.

The way we spend our morning decides our entire day. The most you make your mornings the least irrepressible you will feel for the rest of the day. Once our kids wake up, we need to be with them. So we should plan and organize those few hours before 10 am. A busy mom needs productive morning checklist, not the feel of unproductive for the rest of the day. 1) Make the bed

Many times it comes to mind that why to bother for making our bed when it will be messy again. But believe me, the completion of this small task in the morning will give you an immense sense of accomplishment. This will encourage you to complete another task. According to author Charles Duhigg, the habit of making your bed just after waking up is a cornerstone that will help to make many more good decisions throughout the day. So spending two minutes in pulling the bed-sheet tightly and placing the pillow will kick-start your day on a positive note. And this small task will give a tidy look to your bedroom.

2) Fill your cup

You need to fill your cup every morning, being a mom you have to be energetic all the day long. So if you don’t fill your cup, you can’t pour from your cup. This means recharge yourself every morning, replenish your energy to full as you need it in plenty for the entire day. Now it depends upon individual mom what recharge them in the morning. For me, I literally fill my cup with a hot tea, I can’t start my day without tea. I am in love with myself, so I make sure every morning I should fill my cup so I have plenty to pour my love to my family. So I will shout out to all busy moms to fill their cup before 10 am because you will feel better & calmer and spend the day with positivity.

3) Make your hair

There is a very popular saying that “When you look good you feel good”. Feeling good comes from within, it doesn’t mean to do loads of make up after waking up. You will feel good when you are confident in your own appearance. And I am sure you can never be confident in your messy hair. The mess on our own head gives a sense of clutter all around, and it does a lot to pull down your confidence. Hence looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. You should be in top of your priority list, as self care is very much important for busy mom. You can never give your best to your loved ones until you are in your best version.

4) Move your body

Now after completing task 1,2 and 3 it is time to move your body busy mama. I know there are many more tasks to do but don’t compromise with your health. You can take care of your family only when you are healthy. No one is telling you to run marathon every morning but do any activity to have your physical fitness. You can go for a morning walk or jogging, can do some yoga at home or any simple exercises. Just be regular and spend atleast 15 minutes in any form of physical activity. It is important to get it done before 10 am. We know it very well that as day passes by we lack the motivation to do any physical activity for ourselves.

5) Get dressed

It is time to wear your optimism, positivity, and hope. Getting dressed each morning plays a very major role in deciding the mood for the day. No matter if you are working from home or a stay-at-home-mom, you need to get dressed each morning to start a fresh day, new beautiful beginning. You should just put a set of clean clothes every morning, be it another pair of leggings and comfy top, but the habit of changing clothes each morning will make you more productive.

6) Start a cycle of laundry

This is a task I used to forget most of the days and when half day passed by suddenly, I remember the bag full of dirty clothes need my attention. But now I organize my morning in a much better way, I use my time more effectively. While you are busy doing other morning chores first start a load of your washing machine and the cycle may end before 10 am, that’s a bonus mommies!! One more ticked off in your checklist. And be sure to do your laundry every day. The pile of clothes will never end, so don’t wait for too much.

7) Eat healthy breakfast

The first meal of your day must be healthy and full. So never skip your breakfast and don’t start your day by gobbling something unhealthy. As the food you are eating also set an example for your kids. Eat something that gives you energy and keep you full till lunch so you don’t need to munch on unhealthy snacks. It is always a good idea to plan your breakfast last night so you don’t need to think what to prepare and don’t end up in eating something unhealthy. The best way to start your day is to eat a healthy breakfast. Eat healthy and stay healthy!!

8) Read something motivating

Read something motivational and inspiring every morning that makes you better person each day. Try to cultivate the habit of reading so you can pass this habit to your kids as well. Reading is the best thing you can do to improve yourself and bring out the best of you. Never stop learning, each day is a new beginning to learn something new, so start the day with some positive and motivating books or quotes. 9) Make a to-do list for the day

Mornings are the only time when you can think or analyze something peacefully without your kids intervention. So use this time of your day to think what you need to do for the day. Being busy is secret to happiness, so embrace gratitude and be thankful to almighty. When we are busy we don’t have time to ponder over negative thoughts. When we are busy making our plans successful we feel happier and motivated. At the same time don’t forget to love yourself and don’t go hard on yourself. Don’t over-burn yourself for perfection as our kids want happy mommy they are not bothered for perfection.

    I need to remind myself of these a LOT. I have a 2 year old potty training and a newborn… I pour my coffee in the morning. I take a sip of it at noon and throw it down the drain at 9pm lol.

    These are some great suggestions. I especially like reading something motivational and I start each morning with a walk with my dogs. I do have to say I am not a fan of using the word ‘should’.
