Morning shows the day. A productive morning routine sets the mood for the rest of the day. Our entire day depends on how we are going to start it. So the mornings are the major part of the day. There must be something special about the mornings that need so much attention and planning.

Don’t get scared with the label “Morning Routine”. I am not an early morning riser, but that doesn’t mean my morning cannot be productive. Productive morning doesn’t mean you have to leave your bed at 5am, though it is appreciable if you can do. As I am kinda happy if I can sleep till 6:30 am – 7:00 am, but I used to wake up at sharp 5:30 am before this pandemic. Though the wake up time was not my choice as I had to wake up early due to my daughter’s school timing. And then I realized waking early give you a chance to make your day more productive. As I am not an early riser so now when there is no early school time I usually wake up between 6:30 am to 7:00 am.

As a result, I have to jump over so many things with no planning and I felt like a big mess around me. The age and experienced I gained over these years have taught me so many things. I am not telling to wake up at 5 am from tomorrow, just wake up little earlier from tomorrow.

  • Make a gradual change, slowly try to accept this as your habit.
  • Keep your alarm clock a bit far from you, as you have to leave your bed to switch off the alarm
  • Allow some natural light to enter your room, it helps to wake you up naturally.
  • Be sure to have a sound sleep of atleast 7 to 8 hours in a day. When you are planning to wake up early you have to sleep early too. So plan your night time routine accordingly.

Now we got enough knowledge that making a habit of waking up a little earlier will change a lot in our life. As I said above, it is not necessary to wake up at 4 am to start your day, you can wake up earlier from your current time and the gradual change of waking each day earlier will be your habit.

2# Start your day with a glass of warm water

Drinking warm water first thing in the morning prepares your body for the rest of the day. It aids to the digestive system of your body and re-hydrate the body too. If you add lemon to your water, you are adding extra benefits to your health. During the night, our body is in rest mode, so warm water with lemon is the best way to wake up your mind and body.

3# Move your body

After resting for the entire night, our body needs some movement in the morning to maintain normal physical fitness and remain energetic for the entire day. You can perform any kind of physical activity like morning walks, easy stretching exercises at home, jogging, etc. Maybe at first you don’t feel like doing. But you can realize your positive initiation and the little physical activity you practice will have a dynamic effect throughout the day.

    Great tips for a productive morning! I always get up early to exercise and read a bit before I have to get ready for the day. I would like to try to not use my phone early in the morning because it’s a time waster and does increase anxiety (like you said). I’ll have to add that to my morning habits. Thank you!
