Swiss Alps : Through my eyes

I was on cloud nine when I felt the jerks of the wheels of our plane touching the ground or we can say when we landed on heaven. Yes we reached Switzerland. It was our honeymoon. A decade passed by but I would say we are always ecstatic to relive the memories of Swiss Alps.

As we grew up in the era of 90’s and very much fond of bollywood movies. And Switzerland being the most favourite shooting location for the movies, I was elated to capture it through my eyes.

We reached Zurich, the cabin crew welcomed us with swiss chocolates and no doubt a bit shamelessly I took two extra chocolates. And we started our way to hotel in Zurich. We were actually not able to locate it. But it is rightly said “Its ok to get lost in a beautiful place” . Anyhow we managed to find it.

Everyplace of this country is a magnificent panorama. Next day our voyage started , tried to cover most of the must to visit places.

Few of them are :-

  • Lake lucerne which is in central Switzerland , had a cruise trip there.
  • Interlaken , couched between two lakes.
  • Einstein House in Bern.
  • Rhine Falls, said to be Europe’s biggest waterfall. In the middle of all there stands a mighty rock which can be reached by a boat trip where tripper can feel the roar of the waterfall. One thing I still remember is that there was a quote written in Hindi and it made me very proud of my country.
  • Finally yet importantly the place where I was stuck between reality and dream was Jungfraujoch ie The Top Of Europe. Highlight of any swiss trip. I would say its a different world. We reached there by train. That is the highest railway station of Europe. On the top we can enjoy the 360 degree view from terrace as well as from the warmth of a closed building with panaromic windows. There is a Ice Palace where all the sculptures are of ice.
  • And surprisingly we found an Indian restaurant on the top of europe named Bollywood. And we were delighted to have Indian cuisine during our trip.

I would say its impossible to find a place in Switzerland that is not magical. Switzerland will always remain as a magical frosty dreamland for me. Will love to visit there again and again.
